"Keynes went out of his way in his Sidney Ball lecture to state that “for my part, I think that Capitalism, wisely managed, can probably be made more efficient for attaining economic ends than any alternative system yet in sight,” although he conceded that “in itself [capitalism] is in many ways extremely objectionable.” Or, as he wrote to Sir Charles Addis, a director of the Bank of England, “I seek to improve the machinery of society, not overturn it.”"
Let us follow Keynes’s advice and have what I would call “Social Capitalism.” A proven productive economic system, with firm democratic control, but for everyone.—gdn)
