Student athletes should not, of course, be paid. Also, the NCAA should not profit from student athletic competition. Solution: therefore; just as the professional sports democratizing procedure of “to the loser goes the spoils” by having the teams with the lowest end-of-year standings get first draft picks, all profits of March Madness each year should be accounted for by the NCAA; and then be awarded to a given number of colleges with the lowest scoring in the first round.
